What To Expect From An Interior Design Consultancy Package

An Interior Design Consultancy package is a simple, more affordable and highly collaborative way to bringing expert advice and knowledge to your creative projects. Studio III offers support to those wishing collaboration with our expert knowledge of interiors at any stage of your project, instead of complete end-to-end project co-ordination. But what can you expect from a good consultancy package?

What it is and isn’t…

An interior design consultancy package is a full day service split over 2-3 days, starting with a site visit to see your space, understand the brief, listen to your design dilemmas and learn more about your vision and lifestyle. We will take a tour of the key room(s) together and discuss what is working for you and what isn’t, narrowing down to the key design objectives. We will do a basic survey of the room and talk through the primary function and aesthetic of the space. Finally, understanding your budget and timeline is important to delivering within your requirements.

The consultation is an opportunity to provide our expertise with your creative collaboration. It is not an end-to-end design project that would incorporate detailed space planning, technical design, working with key contractors, project management and final installation.

What are the key outputs?

An important part of collaborating is providing sufficient visuals and outputs (within the package fee) to ensure you can see the project to the end, conveying the key design ideas and where to source them. Studio III typically provide a floorplan (of your chosen room) with furniture layout; a design intent mood board – the pretty bit!; furniture and finishes selection together with a retail shoppping list. In addition, some quick hand sketches showing applied finishes and key placement of furniture will help you visualise your scheme.

It is important that there is a round of revisions (typically one) to ensure any feedback is factored. At the final meeting you will get a design that includes paint colours, wall and floor finishes, a selection of furniture and key accessories with samples that you can take home.

What do you need to prepare?

Nothing! Well nearly nothing… the most important bit we ask of all our clients is to be open and honest, even if that means admitting that you don’t know where to start, our approach is to ask meaningful questions to get to the nub of the problem. Being able to articulate your needs is a good starting point as well as thinking about one of your favourite spaces/hotels/places you’ve been to and why you liked it. But above all, we will focus on building trust between us to ensure a satisfying end result.
